Advertisement is one effective means to promote your business. Advertising is a tried and true way to let potential customers know that your company exists and what different services or products you offer. Google has its own web advertising program which is known as Google Adwords. The program is incredibly profitable for Google because it is the most innovative approach in marketing in more than 50 years. Unlike all the advertising programs that went before it, every one of which necessitated broadly marketing to huge demographics, Adwords allows every advertiser to target with precision its specific consumer using keywords. This allows every company, no matter its size to compete equally and make google ad words profits in the process.

Google Ad words is often the the perfect way to advertise for small businesses because it employs PPC or pay per click advertising, a revolutionary approach to marketing that actually targets consumers who might have an interest in what service or product you offer. For the first time in history, businesses of every size have the opportunity to compete on a level playing field and expand their business in a targeted way while not spending more than they can afford.

How does Google implement Adwords?

Google lets to display ads that are linked to your website. When making an Adwords ad, you will determine how much you are able to pay per click (PPC) and choose the keywords or key phrases that will bring you customers from. The advertisement you create will then be displayed on the right side of Google's search results. This will be true if the search keywords used by the search match the keywords that you specified. The order in which the different ads will be shown depends on a formula that will be discussed later on.

Another thing is that Adswords advertisements will not display only on Google's search results. Rather they will also be read on Google partner sites such as AOL, HowStuffWorks, Earthlink and Blogger. This will broaden the sites where will your ads be displayed.

What are the other features used in Adwords?

Though Google Adwords is the most innovative form of advertising on the internet it is important to bear in mind that profitability is not guaranteed. Fortunately Googe has structured Adwords to help users not only in targeted advertising but also sometimes save money. One potential money saving feature of Adwords is called the Adwords Discounter. Adwords is modeled on an auction basis. Companies essentially bid on a keyword when deciding the PPC price they are prepared to pay for each click. This results in a ranking where the higher bidders get better ad placement (though there are other factors Google uses as well). However, Adwords automatically adjusts so that advertisers pay only one cent above their competitors PPC, a terrific feature which means that businesses do not need to monitor their PPC rates all the time.

Another feature is that Adwords does not favor the biggest marketers. Differently stated, this program levels the internet marketing playing field. How? The placement of ads is done by a formula that takes into account multiple factors, including the cost per click and click through rate (CLR). Well written ads often produce a superior click through rate.

Tips in using Adwords efficiently.

1.) Ask a question in the headline.

Why start an ad with a question? Simple, because it works very well with click through rates Place yourself in the place of your potential consumer. Each day many hundreds of millions of people use the world wide web because they have a question about something. It is very likely many of these customers want or have a question about something you offer. If the question in your headling somehow relates with the questions that they have in their mind (remember, they see your ad because the keyword targets them) then they will be possible visitors. An intriguing question in a headline is a proven and effective way to get those potential buyers to click through to your site.

2.) Do not be afraid to try different ads.

Ever hear of split ads? They are simply two different versions of an ad, run contemporaneously and tested through tracking. An ad that performs well is retained while its poorer cousin is discarded in favor of another ad. The best advertisers on the web use this technique to maximize their profitability.
